Donor Cancellation & Refund Policy

This Donor Cancellation and Refund Policy (“Policy”) sets forth the terms and conditions under which Climate Karen, Inc., a nonprofit corporation recognized as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code (“Climate Karen,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), will address donor cancellations and refund requests related to contributions made through our website or any third-party payment processor, including but not limited to Zeffy.
1. General Policy
All contributions made to Climate Karen are considered charitable gifts and are non-refundable. Because donations are immediately used to support our mission and charitable programs, we do not issue refunds for any donations, whether one-time or recurring, except in the event of a verified billing error as described below.
By submitting a donation through Zeffy or any other payment processor, you acknowledge and agree that your contribution is final and not made in exchange for goods or services, unless expressly stated otherwise.
2. Recurring Donations and Cancellations
Donors who have authorized recurring donations (monthly, quarterly, or annual) may cancel future donations at any time.
Self-Service Cancellations
Recurring donations may be canceled directly by the donor through their Zeffy donor account.
Assisted Cancellations
Donors may also request cancellation by contacting Climate Karen via email at info@climatekaren.org. Cancellation requests must be submitted at least five (5) business days prior to the next scheduled charge to ensure timely processing.
Cancellations affect future donations only and do not entitle the donor to a refund of past donations.
3. Billing Errors
In the event of a billing error (for example, duplicate transactions, incorrect charge amounts, or unauthorized charges), donors may request a correction by contacting info@climatekaren.org within thirty (30) days of the transaction date.
If, upon investigation, Climate Karen determines that a billing error occurred, a full or partial refund may be issued to the original payment method.
Refunds will not be granted for any reason other than verified processing errors.
4. Tax Receipts and Record Adjustments
If a refund or correction is issued due to a billing error, Climate Karen will issue an amended tax receipt to reflect the corrected contribution amount. Donors are responsible for ensuring that their tax filings reflect accurate charitable contribution amounts.
5. Processing Fees
Donations made through Zeffy may include optional coverage of payment processing fees. Such fees are voluntarily contributed by the donor to help ensure that Climate Karen receives 100% of the intended donation.
In the event of an approved refund for a billing error, only the donation amount will be refunded. Processing fees voluntarily contributed to Zeffy are non-refundable.

7. Amendments
Climate Karen reserves the right to modify or amend this Policy at any time. Any such amendments will become effective immediately upon posting on our website. Your continued use of our donation platform following such changes constitutes your acknowledgment and acceptance of the revised Policy.
